There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile, He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile. He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse. And they all lived together in a little crooked house
I remember this nursery rhyme from my childhood -“There was a Crooked Man”, and I loved it.
Someplace on the web I saw a clock mechanism that used “unround” gears and I was fascinated by it. So I put both my brain cells to work at the same time and came up with this - thanks to
The spread sheet has to use “lobes” of the eccentric gears to calculate the reduction rather than teeth which only change the gear size.
The ratios then are:
60 tooth escape at 1 sec pendulum is 2 min/rotation.
Next 3:9 = 3 or 6 minutes
Next 1:5 or 30 minutes
Finally 1:2 or 60 min at GW.i
This "Clock" is still under construction
